Cacao Valent se fundó en el 2013 en finca la Esperanza. La misma, se encuentra en las montañas de San Sebastián, Puerto Rico. Desde entonces, nos hemos dedicado a cultivar el mejor Cacao de la isla confirmado por Cocoa of Excellence en Paris, Francia en el 2017 y 2019 dejando saber que la calidad de nuestra cosecha está en las mejores 50 del mundo. A demás del cacao, en nuestra finca también se cultiva café, achiote y parcha, entre otros productos locales. Cacao Valent was first established in 2013 by David Valentín Bayón. 

Growing up in a family composed of generations of farmers, he learned at an early age the value of hard work and perseverance. This lead him to become the first in his family to earn a college degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

After years of establishing a successful company, David felt the urge to return to his agriculture roots and acquired Finca La Esperanza where Cacao Valent was founded. 

Since then Cacao Valent has been dedicated to cultivating the best Cacao in Puerto Rico. This aspiration has been confirmed through the Cocoa of Excellence Award in Paris, France. The awards received in the 2017 and 2019 edition, placed Cacao Valent samples amongst the top 50 in the world.
